Been to one of my favourite shows this weekend, the Hot Rod Hayride. Most shots are off the Custom Car but here’s a few to keep you going. I got injured in the line of duty, cut in the elbow, grazed and swollen wrist and brused knuckles from a shower of flying stones out the back of one of the cars. We suffer for our art.

Now that I’ve sent some shots to the mags I can share some more photos from the awesome weekend in Chimay.

My friend Paul over in Northern Ireland is about to launch a cool new Hot Rod Apparel store called Shinerunner. I’m happy to help him out with a few photos, check them out on his website.

Fresh in the shops is the August issue of Custom Car and included is a feature that I shot of Martin Ely’s Willys Pickup. One that didn’t make the cut was my take on a Constable, if Hot Rods had been around this may have been what he was painting.

Here’s a video shot from my ’57 Chevy, cruisin’ round the Chimay site on Saturday.
Some shots going off to the mags but here’s a few to get started, some video to come too. It was amazing on Friday, epic on Saturday and a wash out Sunday. Loved the Executioners mock up of the car dealership from American Graffiti. Unfortunately the Moon Dragster had a run in with the armco, but everyone was alright.
Looking forward to the next one.

I’m very excited to be travelling to Chimay in Belgium in less than two week for the 1st European Hot Rod and Custom Show. I hope to meet up with some of my European friends who take the time to catch up on this blog. From what I hear there are going to be a whole mess of Rods from the UK. I’m travelling on a ferry to Dunkirk with about 50 Rods so look forward to the road trip as well as the show itself. I’ll have the GoPro ready.

If you’ve never picked up a copy of Fuel Magazine you’ve been missing out. This glossy independent Australian magazine comes out three times a year and contains some fantastic photography and articles from the world of Hot Rodding. It is a great pleasure therefore that the editor Luke Ray has been kind enough to give Book of Kool a mention in issue 10. Thanks for the support guys.
